Cadence bills weekly. Invoices land Friday morning, charge attempts run Friday afternoon, receipts land Saturday. The math is simple by design: weekly rate × weeks active, less any prorations.
Pricing
- Junior · $500 / week · 0 to 2 years experience
- Mid · $1,000 / week · 3 to 5 years experience
- Senior · $1,500 / week · 5 to 8 years experience
- Lead · $2,000 / week · 8+ years experience
All tiers are 40 hours per week, dedicated. You can drop to 20 or 10 hours / week part-time at proportional pricing.
What gets billed
- The 48-hour trial is free. No card charge, no hold.
- The first weekly invoice is generated the Friday after you convert the trial.
- If the engineer started Wednesday, the first invoice is prorated to days actually worked.
- Pause weeks are billed at 25% of the weekly rate to hold capacity. Cancel weeks are not billed.
Payment methods
- Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex). Default.
- ACH for US founders. Higher invoice limits, slower confirmation.
- Wire transfer for invoices over $25,000 / month. Email billing@cadence.work to set up.
- SEPA for EU founders. Available through Stripe.
Receipts and accounting
- Every invoice is downloadable as PDF from your dashboard, with line items per active engagement.
- Tax IDs (VAT, GST, ABN) can be added in Settings → Billing.
- Cadence is registered for VAT in the EU and reverse-charges where applicable.
- Annual statements ship January 15. Email billing@cadence.work for finance team CSV exports.
Disputes
You have 7 days from invoice date to dispute a charge. Open a dispute from the invoice page or email billing@cadence.work. We mediate based on platform ratings, messaging logs, and PR history. Refunds are at our discretion but we err toward refunding when there is a real signal.
Failed payments
- First failure: retry in 48 hours, no impact on engagement.
- Second failure: engagement paused, engineer notified.
- Third failure: engagement ended, balance referred for collection at 14 days past due.
